“Water Never Goes Out of Style”
New work from a zero waste collaboration in which 100 pairs of Levis are re-purposed to explore the relationship between denim and our bodies, as it serves as our second skin.
Johanna exhibits newly expanded work from a collaborative project to zero-waste 100 pairs of damaged Levi’s jeans. Her artistic process involves research as art/art as research. Employing traditional techniques of weaving, handknitting, coiling, embroidery and stitching, as well as digital design, my work often combines comforting materials with discomforting forms and ideas.
